Mohsen Roghanizad
B.Sc., Materials Science and Engineering, Virginia Tech
M.Eng., Materials Science and Engineering, Virginia Tech
Mohsen graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2019. As an undergraduate, he worked on a number of different research projects ranging from biomechanics to materials corrosion and degradation. Alongside his Bachelor's degree, Mohsen would also be awarded his master's degree in MSE a year later via the accelerated program. His research focused on corrosion analysis and mitigation in advanced magnesium alloys.
After completing his Master's degree, Mohsen then went to work for Luna Innovations in Blacksburg, VA as a research associate. After working at Luna for six months, he would then return to Virginia Tech once again as a PhD student in Nuclear Engineering. Mohsen joined the HEATS lab in Fall 2021 and is currently working with Dr. Duarte to build the High-pressure water loop. His research focus is on Critical heat flux analysis and post-CHF phenomena.
Outside of the lab, Mohsen enjoys raising chickens, archery, and martial arts.
